A URL is a Uniform Resource Locator, an address for information on the
Internet. To gain access to the information you open a URL.
To Open a URL
- Click anywhere in the Title field in the browser.
The URL for the current page is displayed and
highlighted.
- Type the desired URL.
The highlighted text is replaced with new text.
- To edit the current URL, click at the position of the
URL where you want to edit the text and either insert new text or
backspace over the existing text.
- Press Return to load the new page.
- Hold down Shift while choosing a menu item, clicking on a navigation
button, or clicking on a link to clone the browser window.
TIP: Viewing a Page's Title or URL
- Click on the word "Title" or "URL" to toggle the Title field to
display either the current page's title or URL.
If HotJava displays error messages about Unknown Host, you probably need
to set proxies for HotJava.
